Special Session with Lucy River
This 90-minute class will marry breath work meditation (pranayama), kundalini yoga (the yoga of awareness), and the benefits of a gong bath (sound healing). Participants will take a kundalini yoga kriya (yoga set), and experience a profound presence of mind emanating from yoga postures, different patterns of breathing, and ultimately a calm, yet vibrant, resting state accompanied by the deep vibratory sounds of the gong. You will leave feeling more relaxed, calmer, and more grounded than when you entered the class. The room temperature will be comfortably warm, but not hot.
Yogis should bring their own mat, meditation pillow (optional), and water. Yoga blankets and blocks will be provided. Class participants may expect some exertion, but any postures may be modified. Kundalini yoga blends meditation with stretching. The emphasis is on meditation as opposed to athleticism. All levels.
