PyroPILATES is a pilates based, low impact training system that combines deep core strengthening along with cardiovascularly challenging High Intensity Interval Training for an intense, fun workout that increases strength, stamina, and flexibility. The class focuses on body awareness and muscular control. Individuals use their own body weight as resistance rather than weights or props, helping to promote bone density and lean muscle mass. PyroPILATES classes are conducted in a heated room. Mat required.
Join Abby for this special 2-Hour class which gives us time to explore poses that we don't normally have time for in a 60 or 75 minute class. With extra time to warm up and prepare the body, we will dive deeply into more complex and challenging breathing practices and postures.
Expect to learn! Abby will pull from over 15 years as a yoga teacher and practitioner, massage therapist, energy worker, and spiritual mentor to weave together this Master Class. She will take the time to teach important foundational principles of anatomy, functional movement, and yoga philosophy that directly relate to the physical practice.
This 90-minute class will marry breath work meditation (pranayama), kundalini yoga (the yoga of awareness), and the benefits of a gong bath (sound healing). Participants will take a kundalini yoga kriya (yoga set), and experience a profound presence of mind emanating from yoga postures, different patterns of breathing, and ultimately a calm, yet vibrant, resting state accompanied by the deep vibratory sounds of the gong. You will leave feeling more relaxed, calmer, and more grounded than when you entered the class. The room temperature will be comfortably warm, but not hot.
Yogis should bring their own mat, meditation pillow (optional), and water. Yoga blankets and blocks will be provided. Class participants may expect some exertion, but any postures may be modified. Kundalini yoga blends meditation with stretching. The emphasis is on meditation as opposed to athleticism. All levels.
Regular passes may be used!
