Yoga Nidra & Sound Bath
with Moxie Bauschke and Liliana Salas
Yoga Nidra translates to “the yogic or psychic sleep.” One hour of this systematic rotation of consciousness is said to equal four hours of conventional sleep; yoga nidra is the ultimate practice of non-doing. While this ancient tradition was initially a secret passed on orally, thanks to Swami Satyananda Saraswati, today it is available to all people as an accessible tool used to calm the nervous system, melt away stress, relieve tension, and restore balance to the body, mind, and spirit.
This workshop will begin with a short slow flow yoga practice, to open and prepare the body for complete relaxation, lying on your back supported by props if desired. Then we will guide you through the Yoga Nidra experience, accompanied by the peaceful sounds of Tibetan singing bowls.
Please wear loose, comfortable clothing, remove jewelry, and bring:
Journal and pen
Mat
Any additional props to support your relaxation.
Please be aware that this practice may involve death contemplation.
Moxie learned the practice of Yoga Nidra in her 200-Hour Yoga Teacher Training at the Parmarth Niketan Ashram in Rishikesh, India. She will be sharing the transmission of Swami Satyananda Saraswati through his scripted Yoga Nidra practice, weaving in minimal language from her teacher, Sadhvi Abha Saraswati (Mataji) and Western Yoga Nidra teacher Jennifer Piercy.
Liliana was born and raised in San Luis Potosi, Mexico. She completed her yoga instructor certificate in shamanic healing yoga in the Sacred Valley, Peru in 2021. A trained classical violinist, Liliana incorporates into her led sessions meditation, pranayama and asana into a holistic practice that cultivates unity and wellness in the community.
