The pelvis and its surrounding muscles play a vital role in how we move, support our spine, and maintain balance through the hips, knees, and lower back. Many people experience tightness or discomfort in these areas—issues that are especially important to understand in a yoga practice, where we are asked to move the pelvis, spine, and legs in all directions.
In this workshop, Abby will break down the functional anatomy of the pelvic girdle and lumbar spine, helping you understand how these areas move and how to engage and stabilize them properly. You will explore key muscles, common imbalances and injuries, and learn foundational movement and breath techniques to support long-term strength and mobility.
This workshop is open to students of all levels and is especially valuable for yoga teachers looking to deepen their understanding of anatomy, alignment, and safe sequencing. You will leave with greater awareness of your body and practical tools for building a sustainable practice.
